In March this year there is a Blues festival in Holland that has been there for many years, but I seem to have missed it. It's in Ridderkerk in Holland and the festival is called Stichting Blues and Rootsmuziek. They have a good lineup this year, featuring Sherman Robertson Band among others.

For us who have been enjoying Blues in Stockholm for a number of years, Janna Rosenqvist was one of the real profiles of the Blues in Stockholm. Not being a musician himself, he inspired many other musicians with suggestings fr band, songs, tapes with suggested music and much more. Janna also was the editor of the stockholm Blues fanzine Blåtryck for many years, a duty yours truly held for a few years before that. Every year since Janna passed away, a proze has been awared for a swedish Blues musician, and this years nominees are Louise Hoffsten, Matti Norlin and Stefan "Stoffe" Sundlöf. Make your vice heard at the Scandinavian Blues Association website.

OK, I have to say it! BB and the Blues Shacks is one of the hottest R&B bands in Europe right now, and has so been for a while. I have seen them numerous times, and they rock like nothing else. If we now for a second think that we would line this band up, for one night, with one on the premier acts in Swedish Blues, Trickbag from Stockholm featuring no other than West Weston from UK, then you know what's coming for you on September 7 to Mosebacke in Stockholm. (Yes, I know it's not supposed to be called Mosebacke anymore. Like I care.) This will be one great gig I think. And also, Stockholm Blues Soiety is celebrating 40 years at this gig. Not a bad celebration if you ask me!
